Energy is a key area of China-Africa cooperation. Since its establishment, GEIDCO has been dedicated to promoting cross-border power grid interconnection and energy transition towards being clean and sustainable. In recent years, GEIDCO has conducted fruitful exchanges and communications with the UNECA, the AU, and other leading regional international organizations as well as energy ministries of various African countries, local energy and power companies, research institutions, and industry associations for pragmatic cooperation. Based on comprehensive analysis of Africa's economy, society, energy and environment, combined with in-field survey and research, GEIDCO has compiled the report on African Energy Interconnection Planning Research and proposed the plan for large-scale development of clean energy and grid interconnection in Africa, which provides useful guide for accelerating specific energy cooperation projects between China and Africa countries.
The forum will include opening speeches, research finding release, investment promotion and so on. It provides a perfect platform for all parties involved for mutual consultation, sharing and win-win cooperation in power and energy sector. During the event, senior representatives from the AU and relevant Chinese government departments will address the forum. GEIDCO will release its research findings on the African Energy Interconnection planning. And relevant government departments of Africa and leading Chinese enterprises will have in-depth exchange on power project development and investment opportunities in Africa.
